Independence Day and Shoes...

Last Wed. was India's Independence Day and it was really neat to experience!

They had a program that night and had people come up and demonstrate the native dress for each state and then a group would come up and sing a song in their mother tongue.  It was really cool! Wish I could post some videos of it.

And... I got a pair of tennis shoes on Sat.!

Spots Week & Independence Day

This week the kids have sports at their school so I have had a fun time watching!  And yesterday was India's Independence Day so that was fun to get to experience!  So I have so many pics. of both that this week I am going to try to post everyday to get them all in so keep checking back!

Odds n' Ends...

Hey!  On Thurs. the kids had a holiday from school so we went to the playing field and played all morning!!!  :D  It was really fun!  We played baseball, volleyball, throwball... some played marbles, cars, and football (their soccer).  We had a fun time.  I've gotten so many fun movies!  I wish I had enough time to sit and let them download!  Oh well, I'll have to show you all when I get home!

Here is a spider that was in my room the other night!  It was about as big as a golf ball!  I had to kill it though.  I felt really bad but I didn't want it biting me in the night!

And here is a picture of me!  ;)  I know some of you were asking to put more pics. of me on here so here I am sweeping my room!  Exciting right?!  No, I just wanted to show you all the brooms they have over here!

Here are some stores...

When we were on our way home the other day there was this herd of sheep crossing the road!  The driver said these are people that look for grazing land. They will camp there for a while and then move on.  They use the sheep for eating and for wool.

Baseball

Today I taught the kids baseball and they REALLY liked it!  We played for about 2 hours!

Zoo...

Hello all!  Well, yesterday the children had a holiday form school so they took them to a small zoo in town and I got to go along!  It was a fun experience!  Here are some of the animals we saw...

Ok this was REALLY different....  The brown things in this tree are HUGE bats.  I think they are fruit bats.  But they were all over the park in the trees... like not in cages!  I was afraid one of them was going to go to the bathroom on us!  But luckily that didn't happen.

This one is horrible of me!  (As usual, I don't take good pics.)  Especially if I am taking them of myself in my mirror!  ;D  Don't laugh! 

Anyway I wanted to give you all an idea of my everyday wear over here.  This is called a salwar and they are VERY comfortable!
